On April 24, 2026, 10 international students and master's students in law from the School of Law at Beijing Normal University, led by Associate Professor Shi Yewei, visited the Beijing Internet Court for a study tour. The event aimed to help international students gain first-hand insight into China’s innovative practices in the field of internet justice and deepen their understanding of the system of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics.

As the world’s first internet court, the Beijing Internet Court has consistently fulfilled its mission of “exploring new models of internet justice” since its establishment. The court has built a full-process online litigation system covering case filing, trial, and enforcement, and has developed a series of innovative mechanisms—such as the “Tianping Chain” for evidence preservation and smart contract enforcement—providing a model of judicial practice with Chinese characteristics for global cyberspace governance.
During the tour, court staff guided the students and faculty through facilities such as the online trial hall. By listening to a detailed introduction from the Internet Court and observing smart court applications—including the “Online Courtroom” and “Cloud Trials”—up close, the international students experienced first-hand how technology profoundly empowers judicial proceedings. Staff also highlighted the court’s distinctive working mechanisms and achievements in areas such as AI and “online protection of minors.”
Throughout the visit, the international students showed great interest and actively engaged with court staff on topics of personal concern, such as the online trial process and how the elderly can participate. The students unanimously agreed that the visit provided them with a vivid and intuitive understanding of “smart courts” and “litigation at your fingertips.”
Through this on-site visit, the event served as a window for international law students to witness the progress of China’s rule of law.
