Recently, Professor Yuan Zhijie, Vice Dean of the Law School at Beijing Normal University, was invited to participate in the 21st "Enjoy Social Sciences, Enlighten Minds" Social Sciences Popularization Month. Organized by the Publicity Department of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee and the Zhuhai Social Science Federation, the event featured two special legal education lectures delivered by Professor Yuan on October 28 and 29. These sessions provided a vivid and engaging legal education experience for both the youth and community residents of Zhuhai.
Entering the Campus and Sowing the Seeds of Fairness and Justice

On October 28, Vice Dean Yuan Zhijie visited the Jinfeng Campus of the Affiliated Primary School of BUN Zhuhai Campus to deliver an introductory lecture titled "Talking About Fairness and Justice with Children." Eschewing complex legal jargon, Professor Yuan drew upon the students' familiar experiences of school life and fairy tales. Through situational scenarios and interactive Q&A sessions, he guided the students to explore "What is fairness?" and "How to achieve justice?" in an accessible manner. The atmosphere was lively, with students actively participating in the discussion. This exchange of ideas helped them establish a preliminary understanding of the rule of law, allowing the seeds of fairness and justice to take root in their young hearts.
Deepening Community Engagement: Promoting the Civil Code for the Benefit of the Public.

On October 29, Professor Yuan Zhijie visited the Party-Mass Service Center in the High-tech Zone to deliver a special lecture on the Civil Code for community residents and grassroots workers. Focusing on topics closely related to daily life—such as marriage and family, inheritance, property management, and neighborly relations—Professor Yuan used real-world cases to vividly interpret key provisions and offer practical legal risk prevention advice. During the Q&A session, he provided professional and detailed responses to audience inquiries, earning rounds of applause. The lecture was praised as "down-to-earth, accessible, and practical," effectively enhancing the legal awareness of community residents.
This series of lectures was a highlight of the Zhuhai Social Sciences Popularization Month, fully embodying the event's purpose of "popularizing social sciences and serving the public." Through the dual formats of "bringing law into schools" and "bringing law into communities," Vice Dean Yuan Zhijie successfully translated complex legal knowledge into accessible content for diverse audiences. These efforts not only enlightened the legal thinking of young people but also strengthened the legal concepts of community residents, contributing positively to the promotion of the rule of law and the construction of a law-based Zhuhai.
