To enhance the global competency strategy for our students and to ensure a broader understanding of the school’s international exchange programs, the Law School proactively engaged with the university’s initiative of “Lecture on Student Overseas Exchange Programs” as part of the second Beijing Student Global Vision Week. On the afternoon of April 2, 2022, a dedicated lecture on the Law School’s international exchange opportunities was conducted in the 1922 conference room of the main building. We were honored to have Wang Junling and Tang Wenjuan from the International Exchange and Cooperation Department visit our school to present on a variety of student exchange programs and the availability of financial aid at the institutional level. The event, which was a blend of in-person and virtual participation, was presided over by Zhang Fuli, the Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Law School. In attendance were Vice Dean Li Bin, Professor Zhong Lili, and over 50 undergraduate and master’s students from the Law School, who actively participated in the lecture.

Zhang Fuli extended a warm welcome to Teacher Wang and her delegation on behalf of the Law School. She succinctly outlined the context and evolution of the upcoming lecture for the students and urged them to take full advantage of the chance to engage in direct dialogue with the visiting faculty from the International Cooperation Department. She encouraged active participation during the Q&A segment, where students could delve into discussions with the lecture team about topics of personal interest.

Following this, Wang Junling presented an overview of Beijing Normal University's strategic plan for global development, the "Global Competence" initiative for students, and detailed information on the selection process, travel logistics, official clearance procedures, and financial assistance for various student exchange programs themed "Observing the World, Striding towards the Future." Moreover, she provided insights into the Global Governance of International Organization Talents course, as well as the process for applying for scholarships.

Wang Junling commended the Law School for its outstanding accomplishments in international exchange programs. She noted that the Law School's number of inter-school cooperation agreements is at the forefront among all departments within the university, with students actively engaging in both long-term and short-term exchange initiatives—a testament to the school's high level of internationalization. She encouraged students contemplating further education abroad to proactively involve themselves in top-tier winter and summer programs offered by the university, such as online courses from esteemed institutions like Oxford University and UC Berkeley, which can facilitate their applications for overseas studies.

Zhang Fuli succinctly outlined the selection and application process for various university-level projects, reminding students to stay vigilant for relevant announcements, to prepare thoroughly in advance, and to leverage the exceptional platform and resources provided by Beijing Normal University to their full potential.

Subsequently, Cao Jiani, a 2020 academic master's student, and Dong Yueqiu, a 2018 undergraduate student, served as student ambassadors to share their experiences in participating in the dual degree master's program and the exchange program at National Taiwan University. From application to preparation, from going abroad to studying abroad, they had a wealth of practical knowledge and were highly welcomed by their classmates.

During the subsequent Q&A segment, students engaged in a vibrant dialogue with the visiting faculty. Wang Junling, Tang Wenjuan, and Zhang Fuli meticulously addressed the array of queries posed by the students, offering comprehensive responses to their inquiries.

Finally, Vice Dean Li Bin once again expressed his gratitude to the teachers of the presentation team for their arrival. The attending teachers and students took a group photo to commemorate the event, and the presentation ended successfully.
