The summer heat has come to an end and the daytime is growing longer. As late summer gives way to early autumn in Beijing, a gentle breeze whispers through the air while new students from across the nation converge upon the city. On September 1, 2024, Beijing Normal University (Beijing) officially launched its New Student Welcome Event, enveloping the campus in a warm and bustling ambiance. The faculty and students of the BNU greeted the newcomers with genuine smiles, heartfelt salutations, and attentive care, ensuring that every freshman stepping onto campus was enveloped in the warmth and consideration of a second home.

Professor Liang Yingxiu, Dean of the Law School, Professor Chai Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor He Dan, Vice Dean, and Guo Yating, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, came to the site to guide the work. Chen Xuanyu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Law School, organized and coordinated the on-site work. Qi Shufeng, Secretary of the Student Affairs Department of the Law School, and the freshmen’s class teachers, Li Dejia, Guo Ye, Meng Jun, Ai Huizi, Li Shanhe, Xu Shulin, and Zhao Shuhong, actively carried out the work of freshmen’s qualification review, student card distribution, and freshmen’s gift distribution.

To guarantee a seamless new student welcome event, volunteers and staff meticulously prepared every detail. From the initial phases of logistics and venue setup for the welcome event to capturing memories and guiding students on the day itself, the team worked tirelessly. Their dedication was fueled by the hope that the incoming students would experience the warmth and support of the BNU community. The university had also assembled a thoughtful welcome package for the new students, which included branded apparel, school insignia, and seminal legal texts. This not only enhanced the sense of occasion but also allowed the freshmen to truly appreciate the school's nurturing environment.

Beginning at 7 a.m., freshmen arrived on campus in succession, bearing the profound expectations and blessings of their parents. With animated expressions and determined, resolute strides, they entered a new chapter of their lives brimming with anticipation, poised to author their own extraordinary stories within these walls.

The new student registration process primarily comprised three stages: verification and stamping, reporting to the class teacher, and receiving new student’s gift packs. Every teacher and staff in each step served the new students very patiently and helped them complete the registration smoothly.

Once the registration formalities were concluded, volunteers stepped in to assist the freshmen with their luggage and directed them to their respective dormitories. The constant comings and goings of the bustling figures imparted a sense of warmth and solicitude to the freshmen of the Class of 2024. The phrases "Hey, seniors!" "Thank you," and "You're welcome" echoed as the most melodious refrains of this new student welcome season.

In the morning, Cheng Jianping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Normal University, and Yu Jihong, President of Beijing Normal University, came to the new student registration site of the Law School to learn about the registration of new students in the Law School, expressed cordial greetings to the teachers and students who participated in the new student welcome event, and took photos with the teachers and students at the Law School.
