On the morning of June 4th, a delegation from the School of Law and Social Sciences at Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) in Kazakhstan visited the Law School of Beijing Normal University. The visiting delegation was led by Madiyar Saudbayev, Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences, and included Aizada Nuriddenova, Associate Dean; Aizhan Kopbayeva, Head of the Law Department; and Aikerim Alimzhanova, Head of the Social Sciences Department. Hosting the delegation were Professor Liang Yingxiu, Dean of the BNU Law School; Professor He Ting, Associate Dean; Associate Professor Yang Chao, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; Foreign Affairs Secretary Yu Leping; and Project Officer Zhang Hanyuan. Both parties engaged in in-depth and friendly discussions regarding collaboration in talent cultivation, faculty exchange, and academic research.

Dean Liang Yingxiu extended a warm welcome to Dean Saudbayev and his delegation, outlining the Law School's history, discipline development, faculty composition, and approach to talent cultivation. Dean Liang emphasized the school's commitment to cooperation with Central Asian nations. Noting Kazakhstan's pivotal role as a partner in the Belt and Road Initiative, he expressed a strong desire to jointly cultivate legal talent through dual degree programs. He further highlighted that cooperation with SDU University would facilitate deeper exchanges with the Kazakh legal sector, thereby promoting shared development across Belt and Road regions.

Dean Madiyar Saudbayev reflected on his previous visit to the university last November. He provided an overview of the School of Law and Social Sciences at SDU and expressed a keen interest in establishing a partnership with the BNU Law School, particularly in the realm of talent cultivation. Following his remarks, Associate Dean Aizada Nuriddenova presented a detailed overview of SDU University, covering its historical evolution, organizational structure, faculty and student demographics, campus environment, research initiatives, and international engagement.


During the session, the two sides held detailed discussions regarding a proposed dual degree master's program, specifically addressing credit requirements, curriculum design, and training models. The parties reached a consensus on the preliminary feasibility of this cooperation. Following the meeting, Dean Liang Yingxiu and Dean Madiyar Saudbayev exchanged commemorative gifts on behalf of their respective institutions, and a group photo was taken.
