For this national stage, Xi Ya spoke on the theme “Extending Legal Reach Across Borders, Securing Enterprise Growth,” directly addressing national development needs and the critical shortage of foreign-related legal professionals. She set out a comprehensive career development model built on three core competencies: learning, execution, and communication. She outlined a trajectory from building a solid academic foundation to actively engaging in internships, practical experiences, and academic competitions, sharing how she systematically grew into a well-prepared candidate for international legal practice. The 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition, themed “Building Dreams in Youth, Aspiring in All Directions, Planning to Set Sail for the Future,” utilized a rigorous three-tier system of school-level, provincial-level, and national finals. Featuring a Growth Track for lower-grade students and an Employment Track for upper-grade students, the massive event attracted 15.07 million registrations from 2,763 universities nationwide, with over 750 students ultimately advancing to the national finals.

BNU actively responded to the call of the competition, placing considerable emphasis on careful organization. Launching the internal selection process in November 2024, the university hosted a variety of career planning education sessions, training workshops, and preliminary rounds at both the university and school levels, attracting over 1,000 applicants. Following the internal evaluations, BNU recommended five candidates to the municipal-level competition, with Xi Ya ultimately earning the place to represent the university at the national stage.

Beyond the competition arena, the Law School integrates career planning throughout its talent cultivation process It has established an employment support framework characterized by targeted management, differentiated strategies, and phased guidance. This framework delivers five distinct categories of support—value orientation, career awareness, skill development, peer networking, and pre-employment preparation—tailored to students at different academic stages and with varying needs, with the aim of strengthening their competitiveness and readiness for the employment. Moving forward, the Law School will continue to work under the guidance of the university’s administrative departments. Using this national competition as an opportunity, it aims to further refine its professional curriculum and strengthen the employment service system, ultimately promoting high-quality employment outcomes through the integration of competition, learning, and teaching
