The paper "Water in Traditional Chinese Legal Culture" by Lin Xinyan, a doctoral student at the Law School of Beijing Normal University, is included in the collection of papers. This study aims to illustrate that "water" in traditional Chinese legal culture is actually rich in meaning, which is specifically reflected in the character "灋 (means law in Chinese)" itself. Even in modern times, even if "灋" is no longer used and the simpler "法" is used, it still retains the meaning of "water", a component of . This study not only explains it through "灋", but also demonstrates it through the character " (means longitude in Chinese)". "" and "Water" still have an inseparable relationship, that is, the component "巠" is related to "water veins", and "" also has the characteristics of "water". The so-called "经世济民" - governing the country and the people – means that "compatible" and "adaptive" policy must be adopted at both the national and people levels, from controlling water to governing the people and then to governing the country.
