On April 10, the second debate competition between legal interns of the Beijing Normal University Law School's "Talent Development Class" and new employees of the Haidian District People's Procuratorate was successfully held at the Haidian District People's Procuratorate. Professor Yin Jianfeng, Vice Dean of the Beijing Normal University Law School, Chen Xuanyu, Secretary of the Law School Youth League Committee, and Xu Shulin, Director of the Law School Internship Office, went to the Haidian Procuratorate to watch the competition.

The debate was structured around three distinct cases, focusing on the themes of "guilt versus innocence" and "differentiating between crimes." The event comprised three "3 vs. 3" matches. Six students from Beijing Normal University Law School engaged in the competition, engaging in intense debates with newly recruited police officers from the Haidian Procuratorate regarding the case facts and legal issues. Following the competition, Vice Dean Professor Yin Jianfeng, along with the directors of various departments at the Haidian Procuratorate, provided insightful and precise feedback on the contestants' debate performances.

Defenders of Case 2: Li Kaiyuan, Jian Yuke, and Li Baihua

Accusers of Case 3: Li Chenxin, Zhang Dan, and Zhang Bohan

Yin Jianfeng pointed out that the three debates were fast-paced and lively, and both sides were able to focus on the facts of the three cases and the relevant application of laws and vividly present their views. At the same time, he said that this debate competition is an excellent training opportunity for all interns, and he believes that the interns will definitely gain a lot from their internship at the Haidian District People's Procuratorate.

Director Xin Dongqing of the Political Department at the Haidian District People's Procuratorate commended the interns for their outstanding performance and emphasized the importance of advancing the collaborative efforts between the procuratorate and the university. He highlighted the need to intensify the training of legal interns in the "Talent Development Class" through prosecutorial instruction, debate contests, and the composition of prosecutorial research papers. This approach, he noted, fosters mutual advancement, learning, and enhances the collaboration and exchange with the Law School of Beijing Normal University.

It is anticipated that the students from the Law School of Beijing Normal University who participate in the "Talent Development Class" for legal interns at the Haidian District People's Procuratorate will reflect on their experiences, refine their logical thinking and communication skills, acquire the professional competencies and qualities of exemplary prosecutors, and gain valuable experiential insights that will serve as a solid foundation for their future careers.
