On May 10th, interns of the "Talent Development Class," a collaborative initiative between the Haidian District People's Procuratorate and the Law School of Beijing Normal University, celebrated the successful completion of the legal internship program. The completion ceremony was attended by He Dan, Vice Dean, Xu Shulin, Director of the Internship Office, and eight interns of the Law School of Beijing Normal University. Xin Dongqing, a member of the Party Leadership Group and the Director of the Political Department at the Haidian District People's Procuratorate, along with the heads of relevant departments and instructing prosecutors, were also present to honor the occasion.

In January 2024, the Law School of Beijing Normal University selected and recommended 8 students to go to the Haidian District People's Procuratorate for a four-month internship. Under the one-on-one guidance of excellent instructing prosecutors, the students studied in the First Procuratorate Department, the Second Procuratorate Department, the Third Procuratorate Department, the Fifth Procuratorate Department, the Sixth Procuratorate Department, the Seventh Procuratorate Department, and the Eighth Procuratorate Department respectively. The specific content included pre-job training, case handling, writing manuscripts, court trial observation, debate competitions, and subject research.

During the internship, the legal interns had a debate with the newly recruited police officers of the Haidian District People's Procuratorate. Yin Jianfeng, Deputy Dean of the Law School, served as a judge and commented. Both teams of legal interns from Beijing Normal University were rated as excellent teams, and Jian Yuke and Li Chenxin were rated as excellent debaters.

In alignment with the internship program's guidelines, all legal interns collaborated with their supervising prosecutors to produce a scholarly article on prosecution during their tenure. Associate Professor Shang Haowen from the Law School of Beijing Normal University served as the project advisor, providing invaluable guidance, while Associate Professor Yang Chao assumed the role of a defense judge during the final defense session. The research article co-authored by Li Baihua, Zhang Dan, Li Kaiyuan, and their supervising prosecutors was distinguished as an "Outstanding Research Article." At the completion ceremony, Vice President He Dan and Director Xin Dongqing presented awards to the winning interns and their supervising prosecutors in recognition of their achievement.

Four students, Li Chenxin, Li Kaiyuan, Chen Xiaolin and Liu Jingwen, were awarded "Outstanding Legal Interns". Vice Dean He Dan and Director Xin Dongqing presented awards to the outstanding interns at the completion ceremony.

At the completion ceremony, He Dan, Deputy Dean of the Law School of Beijing Normal University, expressed her gratitude to the Haidian District People's Procuratorate for its support and contribution to the talent training of the Law School of Beijing Normal University. She pointed out that the "Talent Development Class" carried out in cooperation with the Haidian District People's Procuratorate is a vivid practice of implementing Xi Jinping's thoughts on the rule of law and promoting legal education reform. The eight legal interns derived significant benefits from their internship experience. The Law School of Beijing Normal University is committed to ongoing and comprehensive collaboration with practical departments, aiming to jointly pave the way for a profound integration of legal education and judicial practice.

Concurrently, this partnership between the procuratorate and the academic institution has fostered greater exchange and cooperation between the Law School of Beijing Normal University and the Haidian District People's Procuratorate. Together, we have actively engaged in and advanced this initiative, establishing a beneficial and interactive framework. Looking ahead, we are dedicated to further strengthening the development and management of the legal internship base co-established by the procuratorate and the university. We aim to provide students with an increased number of practical opportunities and training platforms, thereby cultivating a new generation of legal professionals equipped with hands-on experience.
