On October 12, 2024, thanks to the meticulous planning of the Law School Student Union, the preliminary round of the annual undergraduate future teacher literacy competition culminated in a resplendent finale.
Twenty undergraduate students from the Law School ascended the stage, each shining like a brilliant star in the firmament. Their fervor for education harmoniously blended with the 120-year legacy of BNU, reflecting their individual educational prowess. The contestants, well-prepared and enthusiastic, delivered their presentations with creativity and conviction, showcasing their teaching prowess. The judges, in turn, offered their assessments with sincerity, dispensing wisdom through their critiques, fostering growth with constructive feedback, and bestowing praise and encouragement like a gentle spring breeze.

Event Review
Jiao Yang commenced his presentation with the evocative title "Dreaming of Wandering on Tianmu Mountain and Leaving Behind a Poem," delving into the hierarchical structure of the entire text, from the prelude to the dream, through the dream itself, to the awakening. His lucid and vibrant elucidations facilitated a profound comprehension of the text. Concurrently, Jiao Yang also recited another seminal work by Li Bai, "Crossing Jingmen to Say Farewell," adeptly incorporating "group reading" into the classroom setting.
Zhu Lingyi, in her analysis, began with an exploration of the life narrative and literary evolution of Li Qingzhao, the poetess behind "Sheng Sheng Man." She provided a comprehensive and intricate account of the work's creative context, immersing us in the experience as if we were part of the scene, able to palpably sense the profound melancholy interwoven within the stanzas. Through the timeless techniques of embodying emotions in landscapes and conveying feelings through metaphors, she conducted a thorough exegesis of the text. Her meticulous dissection was as refreshing as a spring breeze, enveloping us in its warmth.
Gu Zhenqi started the topic by commenting on Gui Tianxiang's words, showing the exquisiteness of "Taibai's Quatrains", and thus introduced the text "Hearing that Wang Changling Was Demoted to Longbiao, I Sent Him This Letter from Afar". With the intention of poetry as the main line, he slowly unfolded the beautiful picture of Tang poetry before our eyes, and explained in a simple and easy-to-understand way the romantic sentiment of "The bright moon accompanies you, and my thoughts follow you."
Through a clear structural framework and practical case explanations, Li Yifei explained to us the relevant knowledge points of civil law and civil legal relations; at the same time, he linked the relevant important regulations in the Civil Code to further analyze the essence of civil law and turn the abstract into the concrete; finally, he added the finishing touch and sublimated it with the "combination of law and morality", presenting us with a wonderful political class.
Wan Xinyang guided the students to start from the text, and use language, aesthetics, culture and other perspectives to appreciate the "beauty of the border town" and explore the "pain of the border town". The ending of the journey triggered students' thinking, giving the class more flexibility and fullness, and deepening students' understanding of the text.
Zhang Yingzi guided us through "Watching Sea Tide," initiating an enchanting poetic odyssey. We journeyed from the picturesque landscapes chronicled by Liu Yong to a delve into his inner sanctum, traversing scenes of "smoky willows and painted bridges, misty screens and verdant drapes," to the realms of "September's fragrant osmanthus and the sprawling expanse of lotus blooms." Accompanied by a comparative study of "Eight Kinds of Sounds of Ganzhou," we progressively became engrossed in the timeless scroll of poetic imagery.
Guo Jianan brought us a lesson on "The Strong Oxidizing Property of Chlorine". He had a rich knowledge reserve, expressed himself fluently, explained things clearly and thoroughly, and gave vivid examples, which gave everyone a deep understanding of the characteristics of chlorine.
Yin Yiwen's lecture on "The Past and Present of 'A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains'" was truly illuminating. With an extensive knowledge base and eloquent narrative, she recounted the saga of this renowned artwork. Her analysis was thorough, encompassing everything from the painting's historical context to its distinctive artistic elements. The expertise she exhibited was commendable, and she presented a veritable cultural banquet to all in attendance.
Jia Xinyan’s lesson “The People Are the Masters of the Country” was excellent. Through detailed cases and clear explanations, she profoundly explained the connotation and significance of the people being the masters of their own country. She showcased a robust political acumen and exceptional communication abilities, delivering an enlivening and motivational political lecture to all.
Wu Yue’s explanation of “Rogue” was eye-opening. With delicate emotions and in-depth analysis, she led everyone into the world of "Mang": her interpretation of the poem was precise, and her analysis of the characters was profound; the atmosphere in the classroom was lively and the interaction was good. She demonstrated excellent literary literacy and teaching ability, and brought everyone a wonderful Chinese class.
Wu Yue's explanation of "The Man" was truly enlightening. She employed an engaging discourse to bring the poem's content to life; she demonstrated a nuanced understanding of the characters' emotions, offering incisive analysis, and adeptly managed the class's pacing, prompting everyone to engage in active contemplation. With her exceptional presentation and profound literary acumen, she delivered an unforgettable journey through the Chinese language to all.
The English class taught by Zhang Jiayi is also very interesting. She has standard pronunciation and fluent language, and she guided everyone into this English class in a vivid way. Through her rich teaching methods, story-oriented and knowledge-based teaching, she enables students to easily master the key and difficult points of English and demonstrates the charm of language education.
Lai Xinyu took us to explore the karst landforms. She led everyone into the wonderful world of karst with beautiful pictures and vivid explanations. She gave a clear and thorough analysis of the landform features and causes of their formation. Her solid geographical knowledge and excellent teaching ability presented a wonderful geographical feast for everyone.
The chemistry class “Important Compounds of Sodium” brought by Xu Yimeng was like a wonderful journey. She presented important sodium compounds with clear logic and precise experimental demonstrations; her detailed explanation of properties and uses made the seemingly boring chemical knowledge come alive. Her professionalism and teaching ability illuminate this wonderful chemistry feast.
Song Jie introduced various genetic diseases to us from the perspective of professional biology, including autosomal, X-linked and Y-linked genetic diseases. Her ideas were clear, and her narration was vivid, which transformed the boring biological knowledge into a wonderful class.
Zhao Yimeng led us into the math class "Elimination: Solving Quadratic Equations". She made the knowledge come alive through logically clear explanations of basic principles and easy-to-understand examples, turning the originally rigid and difficult-to-understand math class into a wonderful math journey.
Li Yixun led us into the lesson of "Cultural Exchange and Cultural Integration" by using the example of "Black Myth: Wukong" which was a huge hit overseas. She combined theoretical knowledge with the history of cultural exchanges between China and the West, and started from the world of similar interdisciplinary integration, giving us a brand new classroom experience.
Wang Ziyu brought us a lesson on the definition of an ellipse through logical explanations and knowledge teaching. He skillfully simplified the knowledge of an ellipse and brought us an excellent mathematics lesson.
Zhou Yixi innovatively created an interesting scene for the literature club to hold a classic poetry and painting competition, leading us to reconstruct our understanding of the text "Tian Jing Sha - Autumn Meditations" in the aesthetic system of poetry and painting. She approached the text from a novel perspective and used vivid language to attract people and make us fall into deep autumn thoughts.
Wu Wei taught the lesson of exploring cell membrane structure from three different model structures: static model, dynamic model, and fluid mosaic model. He combined vivid experimental explanations and knowledge connections, as well as clear and vivid diagrams to guide us to establish a knowledge system of cell membrane structure.
In addition to the contestants, the staff also contributed to the successful completion of this competition.
