In the resplendent season of golden autumn, love sets sail once more. The Labor Union, in partnership with the Youth League Committee of the Law School of Beijing Normal University, initiated a charity event named "Giving Books to Kids in North Xinjiang, Our Hands Retain the Fragrance." This initiative aims to donate books to the children of Beilinharmodun Township. With a spirit of collaboration, all branches of the Law School's Youth League Committee united to fulfill their civic duty in this charitable endeavor.
The book donation campaign unfurled from September 23, 2024, to October 11, 2024. Over the course of these nine days, the concerted efforts of the Law School Youth League Committee in organizing and promoting the event garnered an enthusiastic response from the faculty and student body. The campaign yielded a collection of 529 books, along with an assortment of educational essentials such as erasers, pens, school bags, exercise books, and art supplies. Beyond the realm of academia, the generosity extended to the realm of physical education, with donations including sports equipment like badminton racquets, basketballs, and footballs, fostering a well-rounded development for the children of Beilinharmodun Township.
Some Donated Books
During this event, participants, both students and faculty, will have the opportunity to leave their mark by signing a roll-up banner as a memento of their contribution. Each donor will be presented with a “Love Donation” card in recognition of their generosity. Additionally, those who contribute four or more books to this cause will be gifted a Law School-themed Teddy Bear as a token of appreciation.
Event Souvenir
Members of the Youth League Planning Department threw themselves into the charity donation drive with zeal, meticulously counting, categorizing, and organizing the donated items from the faculty and student body of Beijing Normal University. Ranging from books to stationery and sports equipment, each contribution embodies the heartfelt sentiments of the donors. Once carefully packaged, these tokens of warmth were meticulously prepared for their journey to the distant Beilinharimodun Township. The affection and solace from the Law School of Beijing Normal University will be carried by the autumn wind, ensuring that the children of Beilinharimodun palpably experience the care and tenderness of their counterparts from across the miles.
In this book donation activity, through these books and stationery items carrying knowledge and care, the children of Beilinharimodun Township and the teachers and students of Beijing Normal University established a spiritual connection across thousands of miles. These books covering various fields will not only fill children's bookshelves, but also light up their minds and inspire their desire and pursuit of knowledge. We sincerely hope that through this activity, children can feel the care from afar, discover a whole new world in books, broaden their horizons, and enrich their souls. At the same time, this activity also created a strong reading atmosphere on campus, encouraging children to love reading, read good books, and read well, so that books can become their good partners in their growth.
Though we may live in different regions, we share the same moon and winds. This event transcends the mere conveyance of material goods; it is a feast for the soul. The might and warmth of knowledge ride the autumn breeze to Beilinharimodun Township, planting seeds of hope that will nurture the children's future endeavors. Looking forward to seeing you at the next event!
