In order to improve the quality of postgraduate training, explore the training path of foreign-related talents ruled by law, and give full play to the role of interdisciplinary social sciences in personnel training, our college cooperated with the Institute for Law and Finance of Frankfurt University to carry out a double-degree master's training program.
I. Brief introduction of cooperative institutions
Frankfurt University, also known as Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main, is a member of U15 University Union in Germany, with strong scientific research strength. At present, 19 people have won the Nobel Prize (the fifth in number in Germany), and they are also the university with the most winners of Leibniz Prize, the most famous research prize in Germany. Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, and Jürgen Klopp, a world-famous German football instructor, are all graduates of this university.
The Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) was established by Frankfurt University in 2002. With Frankfurt's environmental advantage as the financial center of continental Europe, ILF has become one of the important platforms for academic exchanges in the field of law and finance in Europe. Cooperate with European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, DZ Bank, Commerzbank, Deutsche Börse Group, the world's top law firms, the four major accounting firms and internationally renowned enterprises to provide a platform for outstanding students to study, work and exchange academically, which is the cradle of cultivating elite talents in the fields of law and finance in Europe.
II. Introduction and characteristics of the project
This project is a single dispatching project for postgraduate students, which provides the opportunity for the academic master in the second year of research and the master of law in the third year of research in our college to study in Germany for one year and obtain the LL.M. International Finance degree. After completing their studies, students can obtain master's degrees from Beijing Normal University and Frankfurt University within three years, provided that they reach the degree granted by both parties.
The Master of Laws in International Finance program, opened by ILF for Asian students since 2014, has trained a large number of elite talents in the fields of law and finance, ranking among the top ten in LL.M programs in banking, finance and securities law all over the world. This project is taught in English, with a one-year academic system, which starts in October every year and ends in July of the following year. The writing time of master's thesis is from July to October of the following year. The total credits of the project are 90 points, and the teaching contents are concentrated in the field of financial law, including legal courses, business/economics courses, introductory courses and legal and management training programs. Legal and Management Training Programs include advanced legal and business English, business management training and field study in related enterprises, aiming at enhancing students' soft power in the international job market.
In addition, students participating in the program can also attend lectures, forums and lectures held every year at the ILF of Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main in Frankfurt, free of charge, and communicate with scholars in the field of financial law in the world. ILF also arranged for students to visit the German Parliament in Berlin, the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, Deutsche Börse Group in Frankfurt, the European Central Bank and Commerzbank. After the completion of all courses, ILF will also recommend students to practice in law firms, banks or other institutions with which they have cooperative relations (the final admission result is determined by the internship unit).
Beijing Normal University Law School attaches great importance to the cultivation of international talents, and actively establishes cooperative relations with famous foreign universities in order to provide our students with various international communication channels. At present, our school has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 universities and academic institutions in the United States, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia and Canada. Among them, it has cooperated with more than ten universities such as Britain's Oxford University, Aberdeen University, University College London, Emory University of America, College of William & Mary, University of Iowa, Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, Université fédérale de Toulouse-Midi-Pyrénées, Université de Montréal of Canada and Osaka University of Japan to carry out exchange programs and summer and winter programs, and sent and funded students to exchange and study abroad every year; Actively support and fund students to participate in international mock trial competitions and international academic workshops, enhance students' comprehensive literacy and academic accumulation, help train high-end foreign-related talents with the rule of law, and deliver more international and compound leadership talents with broad vision, solid foundation, high comprehensive quality and strong adaptability to the society, which can lead the future.
