Introduction to the Program
In accordance with the exchange agreement between the Law School and the University of Montreal Law School, the Law School will send 3 students (both undergraduates and graduate students may register) to the university to study in the fall of 2020 for the semester. The students may convert the corresponding number of credits obtained according to the course requirements of the opposite university into our university’s credits after affirmed by Beijing Normal University. The students will enjoy free tuition during their study in the university.
II. Application Requirements
Holder of Chinese nationality
2. Those with excellent academic performance (with an average score of not less than 80 points) and good conduct as well as a clear study plan and purpose.
3. The applicants should be in-campus full-time undergraduate or master students (who are able to complete the exchange study and return to school before the beginning of the last semester of the senior year or graduate 3rd grade).
4. The students should return to Beijing Normal University to continue to learn on time after exchange.
5. The applicants should have enough economic capacity to pay the living expenses in Canada and round-trip international travel expenses.

7. The applicants should refer to the training manual in advance to understand their semester tasks and credit requirements during exchange to avoid unnecessary conflicts with graduation matters of our university.
III. Introduction and Relevant Courses of the University of Montreal
Established in 1878, the University of Montreal has a history of 140 years, one of the top 100 universities in the world and a member of the International Forum of Public Universities as well as the largest French-taught school in the world, providing more than 270 courses for graduate students.
The University of Montreal has 15 colleges and more than 60 departments. The famous majors include: law, history, comparative literature, movie research, computer, mathematics, chemistry and physics, museum research and interactive media. The rigorous style of study of the school has cultivated a large number of social elites, including former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, former Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Benbitur, United Nations Human Rights Commission High Commissioner Louis Abre, and Nobel Medical Prize winner R.C.L. Gilman et al.
The University of Montreal was ranked 136th in the 2019 US News World University Rankings, 137th in the 2020 QS World University Rankings, and 85th in the 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Provisions on French-taught courses: 3-credit courses are free. Students who take 6-credit intensive courses will be billed 530$ CAN. Students can take a full term of French language courses or 1-2 French language courses along with regular courses. Students who wish to take French language courses will be asked to take an online placement test. Course registration will depend on course availability and placement test results.
IV. Application Procedure and Contact Person
1. Deadline: 24:00 February 26, 2020 (Wednesday)
2. Those students who are interested are requested to fill in the Application Form in Annex 1 and send it to Ms. ZHANG’s e-mail: lilyzhang0808@163.com before the deadline. The subject of the e-mail and annexes is “Fall 2020 - University of Montreal Exchange Student Registration + Applicant's Name”.
3. Please hand over the following paper application materials to Ms. ZHANG in the office 1910 of the Law School before 11am, February 27, 2020:
CV (including the basic information, contact information, education background, etc.);
Copies of school transcripts (A4 paper);
Originals and copies of English exam transcripts (A4 paper);
Originals and copies of research results and award certificates (A4 paper);
Graduate students need to submit a study plan, indicating the credits of the courses to be exchanged and explaining the reasons why the courses can be exchanged.
