On the afternoon of September 20, 2018, the Law School of Beijing Normal University and the Xicheng Primary People's Court of Beijing held an exchange and cooperation symposium in room 1822 Gao Mingxuan Academic Report Hall in the Houzhu Building of Beijing Normal University. Comrade LI Yuepeng, the President, Comrade ZHANG Shuang, the Vice President, and Comrades ZHAO Qian and CAO Qiaojiao, Assistant Judges from the Sixth Court of Civil Trial of Xicheng Primary People's Court, as well as Professor LI Bin, the Vice Dean of the Law School of Beijing Normal University, Professor LIN Yanqin, the Director of the Family Law Research Center, LIU Hang, the Director of the Law School Office, XU Shulin, the Director of the Internship Office of the Law School, and PAN Chang, an Assistant Master of Family Law Research Center attended the symposium. The two sides discussed the conference matters of the upcoming academic seminar on "Research on Changing Society and Family Law" and decided on the specific matters such as the time for holding the academic seminar, the theme of the conference, the mode of participation, and the process of the conference. At the same time, the two sides reached a consensus that the seminar should be a kind of meeting for communication and held on a regular basis to provide a platform for the vast number of legal scholars and practitioners engaged in family research. Later, the two sides discussed the establishment of the base for practical teaching at the Law School of Beijing Normal University in Xicheng Primary People’s Court. Professor LI Bin hoped that through perfect organization and guidance work, students could really gain something in the internship. That is to say, through in-depth case trial and other ways, students can fully learn legal practice knowledge and cultivate their enthusiasm and professional skills in legal work, especially judicial work. Vice President ZHANG Shuang said that he would actively assist and guide the students of Beijing Normal University Law School to produce better results for the internship. He also said that with the help of the construction of this internship and practical teaching base, Xicheng Primary People's Court would promote the social extension of judicial functions and realize the effective combination of theoretical teaching and practical application.
Finally, the two sides jointly expressed that they would further deepen exchanges and cooperation, connect various specific issues, carry out seminars, establish practice bases, and realize win-win cooperation.
