On December 21, 2012, at the invitation of Professor Xue Hong, Director of the Internet Policy and Law Research Center of Beijing Normal University, and Professor of the Law School of Beijing Normal University, Mr. Rod Becksto, Vice Chairman of the World Economics Advisory Committee Undergraduate students and 10 graduate students of the college taught online intellectual property courses. Before the lecture, Professor Xue Hong met Professor Rohde and his delegation and had a pleasant negotiation with Professor Rhodes. Professor Xue Hong expressed his welcome to Rhodes' visit and confirmed that Professor Rhodes' visit will further enhance the scientific research strength of the center and the internationalization level of the law school. At 6 o'clock in the evening, in the post-main building 1824 Gao Mingzhen Academic lecture hall, Professor Rod Becksto gave a lecture. Ms. Liu Limei, Deputy Director of the Department of International and Legal Affairs of the Domain Name Registration and Management Center of the Government and Public Welfare Institutions, participated in the course and exchanged views with students on the cyber legal issues encountered in practice. Ms. Liu introduced Mr. Rhodes' experience and explained to the students the importance of combining practice and cutting-edge learning. In the lecture, Professor Rod Becksto first put forward some assumptions about the future development of the Internet, and solicited the opinions of the students. In response to some good feedback from the students, Professor Rhodes said that he will seriously consider the absorption in policy research and formulation. In the final interactive communication session, students raised many questions about the development of the Internet, including the balance between technological development and interpersonal communication, the protection of personal privacy in the era of big data, and the improvement of Internet dispute resolution mechanisms. Professor Rhodes gave a detailed answer, and the students also benefited a lot. Professor Rhodes also presented his own book, Amazon's best-selling book "Starfish Mode" to the more active students in the interaction. After the course, many students still exchanged ideas with Mr. Rhodes about the development of the Internet. In the three-hour course, Professor Rod Becksto taught all in English.
