On the afternoon of December 8, 2014, a delegation of five people from the Dickinson School of Law (Pennsylvania State University) visited the two faculties of law of Beijing Normal University, including Caroline, Associate Dean of Dickinson School of Law. Professor Sheldon, Professor Larry Backer, Faculty of Law, Dr. Hu Jing, Professor Tiyanjana Maluwa and Prof. Flynt Leveret, Director of the School of International Affairs at Penn State University. Professor Liang Yingxiu, Associate Dean of the Law School of Beijing Normal University, and Associate Professor Zhou Zhenjie of the Institute of Criminal Law Science attended the meeting.
Professor Liang Yingxiu, the deputy dean of the School of Law, introduced the history and current situation of the Law School of Beijing Normal University and the basic situation of the Jude Experimental Class of the Law School. Associate Professor Zhou Zhenjie of the Criminal Law Science Institute introduced the basic situation of the Criminal Law Science Research Institute. Professor Caroline Sheldon, Associate Dean of the University of Pennsylvania State University's Dickinson School of Law, introduced the situation of Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University and expressed his willingness to cooperate more deeply with the law schools of Beijing Normal University.
The two sides further discussed the possible cooperation and exchange projects, including the LL.M. project of the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University, the summer program, and the short-term and long-term lectures of foreign experts. The two sides reached an agreement on signing a cooperation and exchange agreement.
Later, Professor Larry Backer of the Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University gave a special lecture to the students of the two schools of law, with the theme "The Five Categories of Law that Make Up the United States Legal System". The students were very interested and interacted effectively with the professor. At the end of the lecture, the delegation of the University of Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law also introduced the enrollment and application of the LL.M. LL.M. program to the students, and patiently answered the questions raised by the students. The lecture ended satisfactorily in a pleasant atmosphere.
