From August 2 to August 23, 2018, under the leadership of Teacher LIU Hang, nine students from the Law School went to England to carry out 2018 International Summer Exchange Program of University of Law in British for three weeks.

During the three weeks of the program, nine students from our Law School studied and exchanged in the bloomsbury campus and moorgate campus of the University of Law in London respectively. During the period, they listened to 18 lectures carefully prepared by the University of Law. The topics covered the British legal system, European Union law, common law, contract law, speech skills, legal ethics, legal qualifications and professions, and introduction and training of mock courts. Each of the lecturers led the students to have a heated discussion and exchange and made detailed answers to the questions raised by the students. The mock court competition served as an important part of the summer courses of the University of Law and an important way of practical teaching in law. According to the cases set up by the university, each group of participants analyzed the basic case, divided the roles of the prosecution and the defense, prepared legal documents and entered the court debate. The university chose The Royal Court of Justice as the venue of the mock court competition where students elaborated and debated the case in a real trial environment. By doing such efforts, they deepened understanding and application of professional knowledge, and gained valuable experience.

In their spare time, the students took part in various activities for relaxation sponsored by the university, including the Supreme Court, the Houses of Parliament, The Royal Court of Justice, the four Inns of Court and the Law Society. In addition to the activities organized by the university, the students also visited famous scenic spots and landmark buildings with a long history in London, such as the British Museum, The National Gallery, London Eye, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace. There was an old saying that “Read thousands of books and travel ten thousand miles". This summer exchange not only improved the students' English language skill, but also provided them with the opportunity to experience multi-culture, broadened their international vision and professional knowledge, and enhanced their social practice ability and active exploration consciousness.

During the program, three students from our Law School pursuing a master's degree at University College London came to bloomsbury campus to have a warm exchange with the students participating in the program on postgraduate application conditions, curriculum setting and selection, learning methods, graduation employment rate, school life information and other issues, and to share with the students the experience and gains when studying abroad.

This summer exchange program is the first cooperation between the Law School and the University of Law. Thanks to active participation and outstanding performance of all the students of the Law School, they were highly recognized by the University of Law and they successfully obtained the graduation certificate of the program. The program, novel in form and rich in content, integrates academic discussions with field visits closely, greatly enhancing the students' interest and enthusiasm in learning.
