To make new students have deeper understanding of the meaning of socialist core value, strengthen college student’s cognition and recognition of socialist core value and guide college student to establish correct value, at PM 6:00 of November 2, 2018, Social Science Experimental Class of 2018 of Law School held “I and Socialist Core Value” Theme Class Meeting in meeting room 1922 of the rear main building, Class Teacher XU Shulin and all students of Social Science Experimental Class of 2018 attended class meeting.
In the first part, students shared their stories of socialist core value, and reviewed the content of socialist core value: “prosperity, democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship”. Students actively gave speech and shared their understanding and cognition of socialist core value. Their speeches had different characteristics and unique thinking, and made everybody have a brand new cognition of socialist core value. DONG Yuxing said, “prosperity, rich and powerful, I indeed feel the improvement of people’s living standard, for my family is living a happier life”; WANG Hanqi said, “patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship can be reflected in very little things in life, everybody around us is patriotic, dedication can be insisting on something, integrity can be attendance on time, friendship can be loving smiling”; HU Chenni said, “we should pay attention to the fairness and justice in the era of network, refuse to follow the herd, avoid becoming the racecourse of others, we must have our own correct and rational judgment”. The 24 characters of socialist core value proposed requirement from the level of country, society, individual citizen, summarized comprehensively, students also expatiated on their understanding and cognition from these three aspects, and promoted everybody to further understand the content of socialist core value, actively kept in line with the requirement of core value and practiced in daily life.
Next, SONG Lien introduced classmates in dormitories, and promoted classmates to know each other. Leader of every dormitory carefully prepared PPT to introduce dormitory members, and the whole introduction was relaxed and active. Everybody talked about their college life, shared busy curriculum, student work and student activity. Students showed positive attitude in study and life, and everybody was busy and enjoyed. For example, Dormitory 613 established an English learning group, they recited English words together and never got slacken every day; most students in Dormitory 614 kept preparing for the debate competition, and finished study under the starlight of every night; students in Dormitory 615 played well with each other and actively participated in various school events as orientation part, fresher ball, etc.
Next, Social Science Experimental Class of 2018 elected Class Committee. Although there were only 17 students in the class, they still actively participated in the campaign, warmly served classmates and made efforts to construct the class.
At last, Teacher Class XU Shulin summarized the class meeting. Teacher XU said that as the modern college student, student should carefully think how to contribute to the national prosperity and actively practice socialist core value. She expected everybody to cherish college life, be strict with themselves, study hard, exercise ability, do every little thing, take every step steadily, practice socialist core value in daily life, and try to become the best graduate of Beijing Normal University. At the same time, she also mentioned that there were few students in Social Science Experimental Class of 2018 and major would be shunted at the end of this term, she hoped that the classmates could cherish the time of being together, and make efforts to construct Social Science Experimental Class of 2018 into a more unified and friendly class.
Students actively responded to this class meeting. Through the meeting, students deep understood the meaning of socialist core value, and knew how to practice socialist core value in action. The class meeting came to a successful conclusion in the warm applause. At the same time, Social Science Class of 2018 also organized “Class Reading Club” to provide favorite books to classmates, so as to broaden knowledge scope, enrich college life, improve the awareness of reading more and reading good, and improve own comprehensive quality.
