Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition has a wide influence and it is known as the "Olympic Competition" of the World Moot Court. Every year, hundreds of teams from more than 100 countries participate in the competition. The basic process is that qualification trials are conducted in countries (regions) and then the qualified teams go to Washington for the international finals. The competition requires the participating students to use English to conduct legal argumentation on the frontier issues of international law, which are often inconclusive or lack clear legal provisions. The competition is divided into two parts: writing English pleadings and making oral English debates in the court. By participating in the competition, the participants will get practice in international law, legal English, data analysis, and legal argumentation. The Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in mainland China has been held for 17 sessions. Judges, lawyers, scholars and officials of international organizations from all over the world have long been employed as judges of the competition. In recent years, more and more top Chinese and international law firms in "Magic circle" have begun to pay attention to and sponsor the mainland trials of this competition.
The representative team of Beijing Normal University ranked 4th in the trial in China held in February this year, winning the first prize and advancing to the international competition for the first time. In the international competition, the Beijing Normal University's team ranked 60th in the world. It ranked the 21st in the world in terms of the result of the complaint. Among that, we stood the 6th place in the world in terms of plaintiff's complaint, which was the best result of memorandum of the Chinese team in this international competition. This selection will be divided into two parts: primary selection (written examination) and secondary selection (interview).
Qualifications for selection：
Undergraduates and graduates studying in our university
Good command of English
Team spirit, earnestness and diligence, not afraid of difficulties, and not giving up
Ensure sufficient training time (including summer and winter vacations and other holidays) from May 2019 to April 2020.

Form of secondary selection：
Each person will have 10 minutes to give an oral explanation in English and answer the interviewer's questions.
