In the summer of 2018, the tenth year after the Wenchuan earthquake was actively rebuilt, the Law School of Beijing Normal University formed the Mianzhu New Year Summer Practice Team and went to the epicenter of Mianzhu to explore the inheritance and protection of Mianzhu New Year Pictures, one of China's four new Chinese paintings.
The team is taught by Professor Xia Yang of the Law School, and Julia is the teacher of the team. The 2016 level is the captain of Wu Na, who is from the law school, the liberal arts college, the social college, and the School of Economics and Business Administration. One person is composed, law school students are the majority, and other students and law students complement each other in practice and make progress together. The purpose is to jointly discover the beauty of Mianzhu New Year's paintings, show the cultural charm of non-legacy, summarize the experience and existing deficiencies of the inheritance and protection, and put forward constructive suggestions, truly show the reconstruction of the earthquake zone, inherit the traditional culture, and carry forward the national spirit. The practice team spent 5 days in the local practice time, mainly visiting the inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage of Mianzhu New Year's painting, the outstanding enterprise representatives of Mianzhu New Year's painting development and the Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum.

The practice team visited Mianzhu, the founder of Mianzhu New Year's paintings, in the Mianzhu Nianhua Village two days before the trip. Master Chen Gang carefully introduced the main production techniques of the Mianzhu New Year pictures, such as drafting, engraving, ink printing and coloring, and showed the most meticulous techniques of the craft.

Chen Yunfu, the father of Master Chen Gang, focused on introducing to the team members the unique coloring techniques of Mianzhu New Year's paintings compared to the other three “Chinese Four New Year Paintings”, as well as traditional pigment collection methods and coloring requirements.

Relying on the interview with Chen's New Year painting family, the players have a deeper understanding of the impact of the Wenchuan earthquake on Mianzhu New Year's paintings. According to Master Chen Gang, the "5.12" earthquake was the first catastrophic blow to the Mianzhu New Year painting: the large-scale collapse of the Mianzhu New Year's Village in the epicenter area, the casualties, the damage to the old woodblock and the destruction. How can each family inherit and create new year pictures? However, after the earthquake, Mianzhu New Year pictures were protected and their value was discovered and quickly listed in the “National Intangible Cultural Heritage List”. In February 2009, Mianzhu New Year's paintings together with other woodcut New Year pictures in the country jointly declared the world's intangible cultural heritage. During the reconstruction process, the national focus was on this area. Premier Wen Jiabao and others had personally visited the Chenjia painting workshop. The people who bought the Mianzhu New Year pictures also came to the fore. The market value of Mianzhu New Year pictures was realized. Master Chen Gang said that even at night, he had to work late, often at noon to eat on time to meet the demand for orders.
At the same time, as one of the powerful measures to protect Mianzhu New Year's paintings, Xiaode Nianhua Village was independently established in the Wenchuan Earthquake Reconstruction Plan, and the construction of the Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province invested 30 million yuan to rebuild. Today's New Year's Painting Village not only rebuilds the house, but also the new year's painting industry has entered a new stage of development after the earthquake.
The trauma caused by the earthquake is difficult to erase easily. However, the diligent and optimistic New Year painting village represented by Chen Jia finds hope and discovers new exports in the disaster, and draws a new chapter in life with the New Year painting.
As a party member, Master Chen Gang has taken an active lead role and integrated the spirit of the times into the inheritance and innovation of Mianzhu New Year pictures. In terms of performance, Chen Gang has been exploring the integration of Mianzhu New Year's Art with the times, and has implanted the "Socialist Core Values" and "People's Line Practice Education Activities" to form a series of propaganda new year pictures. The theme paintings such as Mianzhubaba Dance, Defending the Diaoyu Islands and the Mianzhu Earthquake were also created. There are a series of “new traditional Mianzhu New Year pictures” produced by the “Speech of Civilization and New Wind” series of posters.

A few days after the practice team, under the leadership of Jia Jun, one of the founders of the “Three Color Painting Workshop”, he visited the “three-color painting workshop” of the multi-integration demonstration base of Mianzhu New Year Village. The Mianzhu New Year Village after the earthquake was exemplary. The multi-integrated New Year painting base, as well as the peasant night school, entrepreneurial base, women's flexible employment center, and the creation of a clean government work, to learn and understand the road to post-earthquake development of the demonstration base.

The team members of the practice team conducted a few hours of interviews with Mr. Jia Jun in the three-color painting workshop. The teacher introduced in detail the original intention and development process of the three-color painting workshop as the leader in the development of the folk new year painting industry. The Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008 had a huge impact on Mianzhu New Year's Village. At that time, the artists of the New Year painting put down all their creations, and one mind put all their energy into the rescue. Although the development of the New Year was once stagnant because of the earthquake, the earthquake did not kill the will of Mianzhu people. After the earthquake, many volunteers, soldiers, media, experts and scholars came to Mianzhu. They showed great interest in the new year paintings. Through these channels, Mianzhu New Year pictures have gained greater popularity nationwide. Mianzhu people used their New Year pictures to convey their optimism and determination in post-disaster reconstruction. Mianzhu New Year pictures have also been innovated.

The reconstruction of the New Year Village is led by the government. Teacher Jia Jun recalled that after the earthquake, the leaders of the country came to Mianzhu to conduct research and conduct work guidance, and they were still very excited. After the earthquake, the government took the lead and distributed the land to the villagers to encourage them to pick up the intangible cultural heritage of the New Year painting and complete the reconstruction of the large-scale Mianzhu New Year Village by step by step. The “Three Color Painting Workshop” also seized the opportunity to seek development. Now it has developed into a demonstration base for many government projects, and it also gives back to the society while creating economic wealth.

Whether it is in business model or artistic creation, the three-color painting workshop keeps pace with the times and constantly introduces new ideas. The workshop has long held various educational and exchange activities, covering a wide range of people, including residents of surrounding villages, teachers and students from domestic and foreign schools, and government officials. Let them experience the charm of the New Year's paintings and the theme of the New Year's paintings. Through these various forms, more people can understand and love the Mianzhu New Year pictures. At the same time, in the art form, the artists of the Sancai Painting Workshop have fully exerted their imagination and creativity, and created a unique form of the combination of the New Year paintings with the embroidery and the embroidery, and introduced the excellent traditional culture.

After the interview, the practicing team members visited the functional areas of the various painting workshops, deepened their understanding of the painting workshop, and conducted an interesting new year painting and printing course. Teacher Jia Jun’s hands-on teaching team completed a simple print of the new year painting. Although it is a simple link, there are many doorways inside. In this process, the players have realized the exquisite and meticulous craftsmanship of traditional crafts.

In order to understand the inheritance and protection of Mianzhu New Year pictures more comprehensively, the team of the practice team, who has worked in the Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum for nearly 20 years, led the county to the Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum for investigation.

The Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum is the only professional Chinese New Year painting museum that integrates collection, arrangement, research, creation, publication, development, sales, and teaching of new year painting techniques to nurture new people and patriotic education in the form of art.
The "young" Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum was born in 1996. It is one of the only two professional Chinese New Year museums in China. This is the efforts of the Chinese government and local governments to protect and pass on the ancient folk art of the New Year.
The Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum houses Mianzhu New Year pictures from various periods, from the oldest Chinese paintings, "The Door God" to today's innovative stone carving new year paintings, embroidery new year pictures and pottery new year pictures. Most of the collections in the museum are all kinds of New Year paintings since the Qing Dynasty.

According to reports, in addition to the exquisite traditional Mianzhu New Year pictures, the museum also contains innovative works of contemporary Chinese painting artists. Some of these new-style Chinese paintings use the Q version of the characters, some combine the techniques of Chinese painting, and some draw on the brushwork of Western oil painting techniques, which is more in line with the aesthetics of the contemporary people. It is not only loved by the younger generation, but also the innovation of the New Year in heritage. A model of heritage in innovation.

In 1995, the Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum was included in the first batch of Sichuan provincial patriotic education bases, and later included in the social welfare education base, the integrity of the New Year painting creation base. The Mianzhu New Year Painting Museum undertakes the task of collecting research, protecting inheritance, innovative development, publicity and promotion, and education and training of the Mianzhu New Year painting of the national intangible cultural heritage project. It actively practiced the core values of socialism, strengthened the construction of the base, and focused on the inheritance of “non-legacy” and achieved remarkable results.

During the short trip of Mianzhu, the team members conducted detailed and detailed investigations from the perspective of inheritors, industrial development and government heritage protection. They obtained the subtleties of Mianzhu New Year's painting skills and its inheritance and innovation. Many important first-hand materials such as experience and deficiencies in development. The players have not only harvested a fascination about the beauty of Chinese traditional culture, but also deeply impressed the people's enthusiasm from life to art in the earthquake-stricken areas. I look forward to a more in-depth study of Mianzhu New Year pictures.
