On September 24, 2019, 2020 Campus Recruitment Talk of Legal Department of Huawei was successfully held in room 1822 of rear main building of Beijing Normal University.
The keynote speakers of this talk were Mr. CHEN Shuiming, director of human resources of Legal Department of Huawei, Ms. SI Tong, IP engineer and Ms. CAO Xiaoqing, staff from Human Resources Department of Huawei. The talk was mainly divided into two sessions of keynote speaker introduction and on-site Q&A.
At the beginning of the meeting, director CHEN Shuiming gave a detailed introduction on the talk. Starting from the important promoting role of technology on human society development, he discussed the huge gap in convenience brought by technology and network in different areas and pointed out that Huawei bears in mind the vision of “bringing digital world to everyone, every family, every organization and constructing the intelligent world of Internet of everything” and the responsibilities of promoting welfare and equal quality education. Director CHEN Shuiming pointed out that the Legal Department of Huawei is not only the bridge between enterprises and the law firm but the department that carries out comprehensive and specialized legal affairs with professionalism not inferior to specialized law firm. As the excellent “adviser” of CEO and soul of foreign affairs, the Legal Department plays an important role in Huawei Group.
Next, Director CHEN Shuiming introduced the outlook on talents, talents selection and cultivation mechanism and this year’s campus recruitment posts of Huawei and its Legal Department. For the recruitment of personnel, Huawei doesn’t stick to one pattern and values comprehensive quality of talents. Huawei appreciates people with broad mind, tough personality and initiative insights into new things. For new hires, the Legal Department provides a complete set of training and promotion mechanism of training, practices, assignment, competition for posts, selection, rotation, return after assignment, promotion to senior management/expert and a series of projects such as HWxinsheng and Ilearning to help employees to grow. The campus recruitment of this year includes lawyers specially handling foreign-related matters, IP lawyers, IP engineers and welcomes the application of students.
In addition, Director CHEN Shuiming introduced the basic salary, welfare system and additional subsidy for lawyers specially handling foreign-related matters of Huawei and showed rich work and exchange opportunities, colorful daily activities and good working atmosphere of Huawei through short videos, which arouse a lot of responses from students present.
Later, engineer SI Tong shared her work experience after she was employed by the Legal Department. Ms. SI Tong first introduced work contents of IP engineers and pointed out the detailed division and unique advantages of Huawei Legal Department in different work field. Secondly, she shared challenges and success experience in Huawei Legal Department as an IP engineer.
At last, several keynote speakers and students had on-site Q&A session. Students asked questions about work contents, language requirements for lawyers specially handling foreign-related matters and discipline background of IP engineers, career development and salary of staffs of Huawei and even the equal protection on female employees of Huawei. Keynote speakers gave detailed answers and suggestions. Students benefited a lot from it.
