November 20, 2018, at 6:30 PM, “WE can expect the future” career guidance workshop met students again in the Jingwen Lecture Hall, to help students to prepare for the civil servant examinations.
Following the previous lectures of “How to register the civil servant examination, practice test and skills analysis”, the content of this lecture focused on interpreting the test skills of essay test, in order to provide students with systematic civil servant test guidance. This lecture invited Mr. ZHANG Hongjun, Dean of the Essay Test Research Institute of Offcn，who gave our students a wonderful lecture.
Mr. ZHANG Hongjun has rich experience in tutoring civil servant examination, has unique view of the essay test, and could grasp the hot topic of the exam accurately. Before explaining the test skills of essay test, Mr. Zhang vividly and humorously analyzed the characters and the answer skills of different types of the questions, and gave some common approaches to answer these questions. Mr. Zhang pointed out that students should pay attention to the neat and order of the font, which to some extent can determine the basic score of the paper. At the same time, the relevance of the content and the diversity of expression are also important, and students should avoid large and empty expression, and stereotyped words. Most importantly, the logic of the argument should be clear, and the language should be fluent, so as to be classified in the second level or even first level.
After introducing the basic test skills, Mr. Zhang detailed explained how to use these skills in a specific case by taking a specific question as an example. During this procedure, Mr. Zhang made a painstaking investigation of the material and guided the students with their continuous questions. The students thought and responded actively, combed out a train of thinking, answered based on the material, organized language reasonably and kept hitting the scoring points.
This lecture lasted about two hours, the content covered students’ confusions of how to prepare for the essay examination, ranging from test skills to specific practice. It was less than half a month before the examination, and obtaining the skills and adaption were necessities for getting high scores in this short time.
This lecture explained the test skills of answering essay examination questions, met the need of our students, and we believed it can provide a powerful guidance for our students.
